Red Sky Pictures recently wrapped the final color correction for The Butcher Brothers’ (Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores) film “The Thompsons,” the sequel to their 2006 horror film, “The Hamiltons.” “The Thompsons” continues the story of the orphaned family, as a bloodbath in a local gas station stirs trouble. The family is on the run, searching for others “like them.”
Red Sky Pictures was brought on to the film to do the finishing steps of color correction. Shot on the Red One, Red Sky had to conform the film back to the original R3D media in order to gain full advantage of the camera’s RAW images. Once conformed, the project was brought into Davinci Resolve where the look was really brought to life. With the directors sitting in, each scene was not only balanced shot to shot, but was given a specific stylized look and feel.
