Red Sky Joins the Team Creating Season 2 of “Wilfred” For FX

Red Sky is proud to announce its involvement with season two of the hit FX show, “Wilfred,” starring Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings). RSP will be providing production with a workflow solution to generating transcoded dailies, prepping footage for multiple editorial teams, and uploading footage for the FX execs to watch after every shoot day. After showcasing the workflow Red Sky developed for Hulu’s “We Got Next,” “Wilfred” post team was extremely excited with working together to create an efficient, smooth post-production process. Red Sky is a big fan of the show and could not be more excited to team up with the production crew and FX to help bring Wilfred season 2 to your home TV!

Red Sky Lands Color for Hulu Exclusive “We Got Next”

Red Sky is excited to announce it has been awarded the color correction for Hulu’s new original show “We Got Next.” The show filmed in Glendale this past January where Red Sky was the on set DIT and dailies editorial team. Creating a workflow that allowed Hulu and the producers to watch edited, color corrected dailies by the end of the shoot day helped prove RSP’s worth to network producers. In turn it has landed them the color job for the entire 1st season.

“We Got Next” pushes the boundaries of comedy as four unlikely friends meet at the gym for a weekly pickup game and get themselves in hilarious situations. The show was created by Kenya Barris (creator of “America’s Next Top Model”) and Hale Rothstein (writer of “The Game”) and directed by Danny Leiner (director of “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle”). Keep an eye out for the release, you’re not going to want to miss this one!

DIT for Funny or Die Denny’s Ad

Red Sky had a blast assisting the creation of the new Funny or Die sketch for Denny’s featuring Caesar Millan as “The Skillet Whisperer.” As DIT we built a fast workflow for offloading and preparing files for two different editorial teams. The Funny or Die execs were also provided with instant playback of any given take throughout the day with a secondary playback system that didn’t tie up any cameras during production. Check out the finished video on Funny or Die!

We’re extremely excited to announce the newest member to the Red Sky Pictures family – the Red Epic-M! The Epic is a high-end digital cinema camera that offers some of the best image quality currently available in the market. It boasts an incredible 5k sensor that is capable of film-like dynamic range, and extremely accurate color rendition.  At 5k (roughly 14 megapixels in the still photo world) it can shoot up to 120 frames per second, and at 2k (just a fraction larger than the 1080p standard) it can shoot up to 350 frames per second – which is perfect for high-speed shooting.

The Epic has made its stand in professional studio feature films, commercials, and shows. Some of the most recent films shot with this camera include David Fincher’s “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” and Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus”.
